Hardev Construction Private Limited has emerged as the lowest bidder for Sevoke yard work in connection with the Sevoke-Rangpo new railway line project. The scope of work includes involving earthwork in cutting and filling, extension of minor bridges, station building including electrical works, retaining structures, passenger platform, P. P. shelter, foot over bridge (FoB), dismantling of existing track, linking of new track and other ancillaries work. The firm has quoted an amount of Rs 474.09 million for the aforementioned works. The bids for the same were invited by IRCON International Limited in August 2021. The work is expected to be completed in a period of 18 months.
The project involves construction of 44.96 km long new broad-gauge line connecting Sevoke in West Bengal to Rangpo on the West Bengal-Sikkim border. It entails an investment of Rs 41.9 billion. It was sanctioned in the Railway Budget 2007-08.
