Rail Land Development Authority (RLDA) has floated a request for qualification for the redevelopment of the Lucknow’s Char Bagh railway station. The project entails an investment of Rs 5.56 billion. It is being developed on design-build-operate-finance-transfer model in two phases. The investment entailed under Phase 1 and Phase 2 is Rs 4.42 billion and Rs 1.14 billion, respectively. The last date for submission of bids is June 24, 2021.

The project aims to equip the station with state-of-the-art amenities like segregation of arrival and departure, air concourse, foot over bridges and conductive facilities for specially-abled passengers to enable a hassle-free travel experience.  It is a railway upgradation project including complete integrated development and redevelopment of both Lucknow NR and Lucknow Junction along with 12.23-acre commercial land parcel.
