The South-Central Railway (SCR) has commissioned 12.5 km Kurichedu-Donakonda section of the Guntur-Guntakal railway line doubling project.
The Guntur-Guntakal railway line doubling project involves construction of a 401.47 km double railway line with electrification between Guntur-Guntakal in Andhra Pradesh. It entails an investment of Rs 36.31 billion. It will be funded through cost sharing of 50:50 by the state government and Ministry of Railway. It is expected to be completed in a period of five years.
