Construction work on 19.2 km long Wirur-Mankigarh section of the Ballarshah-Kazipet third line project has been completed. The project involves tripling of 201.04 km long rail line from Ballarshah to Kazipet excluding 33.42 km long section route from Mandamarri-Rahgavapuram in Maharashtra and Telangana, respectively. It entails an investment of Rs 20.63 billion. It was approved by the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in August 2016 and is expected to cater to the increasing freight and passenger traffic of power plants, coal and cement in region.
